Through the Arts & Letters committee, JASSAC emphasizes the importance of African American art and culture in the Chicagoland South Suburban community. Some programs include:

• Sponsored outings to African-American museums, art galleries, operas, and other cultural art forms.
• Project A.R.T (Actively Redefining Together), which supports African-Americans in the film industry.
• Echoes of Excellence Awards, which honors African-American women for their humanitarism and achievement in various fields.
